Rutland County CiCLE Classic 'CrossRutland County CiCLE Classic 'Cross.
Sunday 22nd January 2012
It is regretted that owing to sponsorship and other difficulties that the event programmed for Sunday 22nd January 2012 has been cancelled.
It is hoped that the event will return in the 2012/2013 Winter period possibly under new arrangements.
Aplogies are extended to all for any inconvenience caused by this cancellation, but it is hopd that the support extended to the race in the past will continue during our 'blank' year.
The course that the CiCLE Classic 'cross takes along the very edge of beautiful Rutland Water, past events have fulfilled their promise as the most varied and potentially best cyclo-cross course in Britain. In 2010 and 2011 editions furthered this claim with the track receiving critical acclaim form the top notch group of Belgian visitors led home by Top 'Crosser Rob Peeters (Telnet-Fidea) fourth in the previous weeks Belgian Championships, just 12 secs in arrears of the great Sven Nys.
While is 2011 only the previous years second placed Belgian, Kenneth van Copernolle made the trip to Rutland he nevertheless showed a clean set of wheels to the otherwise top class all British lineup.
Whatever the format of the race in future, please be assured that it will be of at least the same, if not higher standard than previous editions.
We look forward to having you back with us.
